How clients opt in to texts from their salon
Book AZ (operated by VM Tech, Vancouver, Canada) is appointment software for salons, barbers and spas. Each salon texts its own clients about their own bookings. This page documents the consent every client gives before any text is sent.
Where consent is collected
On the salon's booking page (book.bookaz.ca/<salon>/book), the client enters their mobile number and ticks a box that is unchecked by default. The exact form is reproduced below; the live version is on any salon's booking page, for example the demo shop.
Your details
Confirm bookingWalk-in clients may give verbal consent at the front desk; the salon records it on the client's profile (“Agrees to texts”). Marketing texts require a second, separate consent (“Agrees to marketing”) and are never sent on booking consent alone.
What clients receive
- Booking confirmation, reminder before the appointment, notice when the time changes or the booking is cancelled.
- A text when a wait-listed opening becomes available (only if the client joined the waitlist).
- Replies to questions the client texts the salon (answered by the salon or its AI receptionist).
- Promotions and win-back messages only for clients who also ticked marketing consent.
Every message starts with the salon's name. Frequency depends on how often the client books — typically 2–4 texts per appointment.
Sample: “Glow Nail Bar: booked Gel manicure on Sat Sep 13 at 2:30 PM with Linh. Questions? 604-555-0100. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Opting out and help
Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from that salon; a single confirmation is sent and nothing else. Reply START to opt back in, or untick the box in your booking details next time. Reply HELP for the salon's contact details, or email support@bookaz.ca.
Mobile numbers are used only for the messages above and are never sold or shared with third parties. See our privacy policy and terms.
